bioProcessUK is now part of the HealthTech and Medicines KTN, a Technology Strategy Board funded Knowledge Transfer Network, and advancing the UK biopharmaceutical and bioprocessing sector remains one of its priorities.

The Annual bioProcessUK Conference has become the UK's leading technical networking meeting for professionals developing biological medicines. In addition to the conference the Biopharmaceuticals and Bioprocessing agenda within the KTN has several Technical Groups and also delivers an annual Career Opportunity Workshop for emerging professionals.

Biopharmaceuticals (biological medicines) is the fastest growing sector in the pharmaceutical industry, accounting for more than 10% of the total drug sales and 30% of the products in the pipeline today. The UK has the second highest number of biopharmaceuticals in development worldwide.

The KTN is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge transfer and innovation within the key application areas of medicines, associated bioprocessing and health technologies (medical devices and diagnostics, including imaging) addressing needs across SME's to large multinationals.
